Listening ModeDuring regular audio and music listening, the display presents a classic illuminated station dial—a warm visual interface inspired by vintage broadcast tuners.
Conversational Voice Waveform
Speaking ModeWhen the AI DJ speaks, responds through the telephone handset, or discusses record history, the panel transitions to real-time voice waveforms and station status cues.

Parlorwave features a planned RJ11 analog telephone interface on the rear panel. It is being designed to support classic rotary and touch-tone analog telephones so you can interact with the conversational AI host directly through the handset.

Lift the receiver off the cradle. Planned to greet you privately in your ear: ask for music history, discuss the day's topics, or request your favorite records without broadcasting to the entire room.
Rotary & Keypad Signaling Target
Being engineered to decode rotary dial pulses and touch-tone keypad signaling, targeting tactile control over station presets, volume levels, track skipping, and ambient modes.
No Built-In Listening Microphone · Physical Privacy Target
The current base design contains no built-in microphone. Voice interaction is designed solely around external intentional inputs—such as a planned RJ11 telephone interface with physical off-hook/on-hook detection or an optional USB-C microphone with tactile push-to-talk.
